Javier is the partner in charge of the firm's Competition area and co-responsible for the Antitrust Litigation and Agri-Food areas.
In matters related to Competition law, he has an outstanding experience advising on sanctioning proceedings and in judicial litigation related to competition law, including acting on behalf of companies in merger control proceedings. In addition, Javier is specialized in civil litigation arising from anticompetitive practices (antitrust litigation).
In his role as co-responsible of the Agri-Food area, Javier's experience is mainly focused on unfair commercial practices in the food chain, both in sanctioning proceedings of the competent authorities in this area, as well as in the legal review of the compatibility of the contractual dynamics of the food chain operators with the aforementioned regulation.
During his career, he has advised national and multinational companies in a wide range of economic sectors such as the audiovisual, telecommunications, consumer goods, real estate or financial.
In addition to the above Javier has been a non-governmental advisor to the Spanish National Competition and Markets Commission in the International Competition Network and advisor to the World Bank. Furthermore, has been recognized as a Next Generation Partner by the prestigious Legal 500 directory.
Javier is a speaker on the Master’s Degree in European Law and Competition Law of the Universidad Carlos III of Madrid.
