Patxi is Partner of our Real Estate and Urban Planning Practice. He joined the firm as Partner in 2011 after working in the same practice since 2002 at the law firm Uría Menéndez. Prior to this he worked at the company Ezquiaga Arquitectura Sociedad y Territorio, S.L., led by the professor of the Madrid School of Architecture, Mr José María Ezquiaga.
He specialises in real estate, urban planning, administrative and environmental law and participates in the drafting of planning and management instruments and acts as lead lawyer in real estate transactions, negotiating and drafting the agreements necessary for purchasing land and buildings for residential and commercial purposes, offices and logistics warehouses, focusing in particular on the conversion of protected buildings, including the preparation of due diligence reports.
He also advises on the processes for obtaining licences and approvals, on environmental impact assessments for projects and plans or programmes and on the management of appeals regarding penalties, compulsory purchase orders, licences, closure orders and planning and urban management instruments.
He has experience in renewable energy and industrial projects on non-development land and the acquisition and management of contaminated land, urban developments and land owners’ consortiums (juntas de compensación), as well as in the acquisition of public property (tenders, auctions and surface rights).
