Cristina Vidal has been Partner of the Commercial Law Practice and head of Financial Regulation and Collective Investment Schemes (CISs), since 2015. She specialises in infringement proceedings, advising both on preliminary supervisory and inspection proceedings and rules of conduct, market abuse, anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing, etc. She also participates in capital market transactions, in particular in public listings and takeover bids and in financial restructuring processes. She advises listed companies and regulated entities on matters of corporate governance and legal compliance.
Cristina is a Government Lawyer currently on leave, having practised as such before the Spanish National High Court (Audiencia Nacional) and in the Sub-Directorate General of the Litigation Service of the State Legal Service (Subdirección General de lo Contencioso de la Abogacía General del Estado). Between 2010 and 2013 she was Director of the Litigation and Disciplinary Department of the Spanish National Securities Market Commission (CNMV), where she also held the office of Vice-Secretary of the Governing Council.
In a more recent stage of her career, she formed part of Barclays Bank as Head of institutional and litigation legal advice.
Co-author of the Manual de Derecho Administrativo Sancionador (Guide to Administrative Penalties Law), published by Aranzadi (years 2005, 2009 and 2013).
